Research

Brought on to map the evolving distribution landscape for independent documentaries. My research focused on viable pathways across:

-Theatrical release (local & national / chain & indie)
-OTT platforms (streamers and digital rentals)
-TV & broadcast (public and private networks)
-DVD and physical media
-Community screenings (grassroots, institutional, and festival circuits)

Strategy

Using that research, I transitioned into a role focused on coordinating strategic efforts to bring the film to audiences through the above channels.

  • Led direct coordination with Canadian & international theatres

  • Helped align the film’s release with its community-focused message and target audience

  • Successfully secured screenings at The Revue Cinema and Imagine Cinemas Carlton

*All research, documentation and work is under confidentiality

Results

  • 50+ DVD copies sold to Toronto Public Library

  • Multiple screenings in theatres across Canada

  • 2 separate theatrical runs at Imagine Cinemas Carlton

  • Several community screenings in partnership with the Kensington BIA and TPL

  • Selected to play at Toronto Jewish Film Festival 2025
