When my good friend Kirby told me he’d be running the Leo & Brian Film Festival in August 2024, I knew I had to do something special.

With the help of his closest friends (and the festival programmer), I created a spec Netflix-style documentary trailer about Kirby’s lifelong inability to flirt — a lighthearted homage to Toronto’s rumoured epidemic of chronic rizzlessness.

The trailer premiered to a packed house at the Revue Cinema… and to Kirby’s very surprised (but well-received) reaction.

Oh, and no— Netflix did not actually fund or distribute this project.
